While most moms-to-be spend their last trimester pouring through endless piles of baby books, Bonnie Marcus set out to launch her own stationery company! Toward the end of her pregnancy, Bonnie no longer commuted to her job in Manhattan and eagerly launched Bonnie's Marcus & Co. (formerly Bonnie's StylePress) from her dining room table in Westport, Connecticut. Bonnie started by launching a wedding invitation line, Down the Aisle in Style, and a holiday greeting card line, Holiday Style. Each design was hand-sparkled using the most precise instruments she could find – her husband's office tools (he's a dentist). An editor from Modern Bride Magazine received an invitation and called Bonnie to say "your designs are a reason for a girl to want to get married!"
Five years and two baby boys later, Bonnie Marcus & Co. is sold in over 1,000 retail stores around the world. In addition to the wedding and holiday lines, Bonnie appropriately started a trendy line of invitations and note cards for moms-to-be, Expecting in Style®.
